Carnival Court Selection

This year we are holding the Selection of the Carnival Court at May Fayre on 6th May, with thanks to the Rotary Club of Leighton Linslade who organise that event.

We will have a marquee in the bandstand area, and will be running a Silent Disco. This will run from 2pm until 3.30pm, when the Court members selected will be announced.

Registration forms are available online (until the evening before the disco), and will be available at the marquee during the morning of the event. Anyone registering online must arrive on the day by 1.45pm as we have a restricted number of disco headsets available – anyone not arriving by that time will have their place given to people on the waiting list. All registrations must have the declaration signed by a parent/guardian.

Entry is open to all young people in school years 5-8, who have a parental address in Leighton Buzzard or Linslade or who attend a Leighton-Linslade Middle School.

The 3 members of the Court selected at the disco, who will represent the spirit of our town’s young people, will be on the Royalty float in the Carnival Procession and will be in the arena for the prize giving.

They will hand out the cheques at the Presentation Night when the Carnival proceeds are distributed to local groups and organisations.

Court members lay poppy wreaths on Remembrance Sunday.

The Carnival Court are usually invited to take part in the switch-on ceremony for the Town Christmas lights.
